Week 14

It seems that I had to blog on week 14 to close the learning exercise. The good thing is that 3 months after, I can still do it. Have I used a the learning; not too much though as it seems that our platform is not yet fully ready to do so. Will I? probably but still not fully confident with sharing personal information. Still think that the missing bit of the learning program is the translation in the workplace; I have not seen enough evidence that it actually changed the practices.

Week 13

GoogleDOcs is a useful tool when you work with external companies or libraries and when contribution of several people are required for a document. I am not sure about the limitations of the features as I lost the word format when I uploaded my document.

week 12

I think the Poster idea is quite good to send message: why not a competition on the best poster to illustrate the values?

Week 11

There are definitely possible applications of audio and video podcast at the Library. Lecture could be filmed and available to staff and clients. The different services of the organisation could be explained and demonstrated and available on the website. It would definitely be more attractive to Gen Y. I think though that a lot of sites were not clear on how to just read the podcast or on how to download them. It is assumed that you know how their website is working and that you are used and skilled to access podcast.

Week 10

Not being a librarian, the tool is not very useful to me but I concur with the comment made on the week10 page: have not we got enough work internally? if it is a Library decision to use this tool ok, otherwise let's focus on what we are paid for.

Week 8
I can see an application for delicious having previously crashed my PC and lost all my cookies.
For technorati, I tried my area of specialty and did not find anything very relevant. It is probably more to follow something you know exists.

Week 7

I can see some application for the video, it could be for our client on the external website to target a particular group : a bit of targeted marketing.
The orientation and talk videos could also be used but it seems that the duration is limited; would it be limited too if we put it on our website (internal or external)?

We have seen some results= videos but how do you get there?
I am hopeless with electronic toys and don't even have a mobile phone. If I want to make it happen: create a video, what is the process? are you going to support these initiatives and help people after the program?
